Principal Marlene DiLeo

Ms. DiLeo began her teaching career as a physical education teacher at Worcester Vocational Technical High School. She has spent the last eleven years working for the Holyoke Public Schools in a number of different capacities. She has worked as a physical education teacher for Morgan Elementary and McHugh Schools. She was named the Director of Health Education for the district in 2001. In January of 2002 she was named the Assistant Principal of a kindergarten through six learning community and appointed its Principal in 2004.
Ms. DiLeo obtained a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education & Health, a Masters’ Degree in Exercise Science and a Certification of Advanced Studies in Educational Administration all from the University of Massachusetts.
Assistant Principal Lianne Werlein

Lianne Werlein has been working in the field of education for over 20 years. She was a dual immersion (English/Spanish) classroom teacher in public schools in New York City, where she was also executive director of a literacy not-for-profit. She moved to Western Massachusetts in 2001, when she was appointed Spanish Resource Teacher for the Amherst Public Schools. She was then appointed Director of Diversity and Equity for the Amherst Regional Public Schools. Most recently, she was Assistant Principal of Fort River Elementary School in Amherst for 5 years.
Ms. Werlein has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a M.S.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Bank Street College of Education in New York City, and is pursuing a doctorate in Language, Literacy and Culture in the School of Education at UMass Amherst.
